• Listening to the heart and lungs with a stethoscope

These two viruses pose serious health threats to cats. Both FIV and FeLV compromise the immune system, making your cat more vulnerable to secondary infections and illness. They’re transmitted through bodily fluids like saliva, blood, and, in the case of FeLV, from mother to kitten.

Heartworm disease is a life-threatening condition caused by parasitic worms that live in the heart and lungs. These worms spread through mosquito bites and are most common in dogs, though cats can be affected too.

Signs of Heartworm in Dogs:

• Persistent coughing
• Fatigue or exercise intolerance
• Difficulty breathing
• Weight loss or pot-bellied appearance from fluid buildup

Signs in Cats:

• Coughing or wheezing
• Vomiting
• Sudden collapse or even sudden death, sometimes with no symptoms

Prevention is far easier than treatment. We recommend:

• Monthly heartworm prevention year-round
• Annual heartworm testing for all dogs
• Testing as needed for cats

A lost pet can happen to anyone. Microchipping provides a permanent, tamper-proof form of ID that greatly increases the chances of being reunited.

The microchipping process is quick, safe, and can be done during any routine visit. Each chip is registered to your contact info in a national pet recovery database.

Helpful Tip: Be sure to update your contact information if you move or change phone numbers. And always pair a microchip with visible ID tags on your pet’s collar.

• Flea Allergy Dermatitis: Caused by sensitivity to flea saliva. Pets may experience intense itching, hair loss, and skin irritation. This could be easily prevented by regularly treating your pets for fleas and keeping their environment clean.
